St Pete Beach Postcard Inn Wedding {Published}

This Postcard Inn Beach Wedding was one of my favorites last year! I'm super excited to see it published on Hot Pink Brides

Here are a few additional images from this gorgeous wedding.  Isabelle and Brian started their day spending a few intimate minutes together. Brian put his own touches on the beautiful butterfly tattoo that Isabelle has on her shoulder.  There were many quiet tears. I was honored to be included

Then on to getting ready! The Postcard Inn has a beautiful room with funky, colorful mirrors, perfect for the bridal party!

The siblings!

Time for the bridesmaids to help the  bride to put on her dress!

The details of this wedding were so gorgeous! And I loved her colors.. blush and gold.

The couple both wanted Brian to see her for the first time in her unbelievably fabulous Vera Wang dress but they took time to spend a moment in prayer together.

The Amazing Vera Wang Dress!!

The Beautiful Bride.

The Postcard Inn has many choices for couples to choose from for their ceremony. Isabelle and Brian chose a circle ceremony out on the sand.

Just married!

The reception was amazing! Love all the gold!

First dance!

Everybody had an amazing time at the reception!

To end the night, Isabelle, Brian, their family and guests lit floating lanterns.

If your a bride looking for a beach wedding venue in the Central Florida area, I highly recommend the Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach. And I'd love to be your wedding photographer!  Take a look at how cool and funky the Postcard Inn decor is!

Wesley Chapel Family Photographer {Comfort}

If you've been following my blog you know I've been participating in the Twelve by Twelve Project, which is a blog circle with some amazing photographers. This month's topic is comfort.

Wesley Chapel Family Child Lifestyle Photographer

I remember as a child that there was no place like my mom's comfy bed! And its so fun to watch my kids feel the same way. Whether mom and dad are in bed or not, for some reason their mattress, pillows and blankets are just so much softer!

We just recently moved from Tampa to Wesley Chapel and making sure my kids find comfort and security in a new place is so important to me! Bringing along our well-loved "stuffies" certainly helped!

As we are adjusting life in a new city and a new home, I'm trying to find time to photograph more of "us" and who we are on a daily basis. I'm also doing more of that in my work. Its got a cool hip name  Lifestyle Family Photography, which basically means capturing who are are, where you are!

Home is Where the Heart is | Tampa Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

This month I'm continuing to participate in the Twelve by Twelve Project Blog circle and the topic is "Home is Where the Heart Is."

I just recently started accepting limited clients for newborn lifestyle photography and I think I'm in love. I stopped shooting newborns as posing babies and lugging tons of equipment to clients homes just didn't feel natural to me and wasn't where my heart was. But I've discovered that photographing newborns in their home environments surrounded by love is EXACTLY the kind of shoot that fills my heart.

There is just something special about being allowed to be an intimate part of a new family while their hearts grow and welcome a new baby into their home whether its their first born or tenth! I'm so excited about offering newborn photography again just in a different way.

I don't think there is a better example of "Home is Where the Heart Is" than this gorgeous family and their newborn!

Don’t forget to check out  Athens, GA Baby Photographer, Yvonne Niemann  for the next story in our circle.

Ellie & Justin's Davis Island Garden Club Wedding

Ellie wanted her wedding centered around a flower theme and so the Davis Islands Garden Club  located on beautiful Davis Islands Tampa was a perfect choice.  Everybody included in this wedding was so full of love and emotion. Here is a tiny glimpse into their day filled with so much joy and LOVE! It was a pleasure to be a small part!  More to come!

"Us" {Tampa, Florida Wedding Photographer}

If you follow me on facebook, you may have seen me announce a blog circle that I am a part of for 2015 called the Twelve by Twelve Project. It is a group of 12 wonderful photographers who are sharing a journey of growth and sharing in 2015. Our first monthly topic is "US." Please join us not only in following each of our blogs, but we would love to have you join in! I can't wait to see the amazing things 2015 brings!

For What Binds Us

There are names for what binds us:

strong forces, weak forces.

Look around, you can see them:

the skin that forms in a half-empty cup,

nails rusting into the places they join,

joints dovetailed on their own weight.

The way things stay so solidly

wherever they've been set down—

and gravity, scientists say, is weak.

And see how the flesh grows back

across a wound, with a great vehemence,

more strong

than the simple, untested surface before.

There's a name for it on horses,

when it comes back darker and raised: proud flesh,

as all flesh,

is proud of its wounds, wears them

as honors given out after battle,

small triumphs pinned to the chest—

And when two people have loved each other

see how it is like a

scar between their bodies,

stronger, darker, and proud;

how the black cord makes of them a single fabric

that nothing can tear or mend.

He got down on one knee.. {Don Cesar Florida Proposal Photographer}

I LOVE shooting proposals! I am excited that more and more guys are calling me to secretly capture their proposals!!

When Chris decided to ask his Danielle to marry him he pulled out all the stops! He hired an amazing sand castle company to come make a custom sand castle on St. Pete Beach behind the Don Cesar! !  How romantic is that?

Danielle was so surprised and you'll be happy to know she said YES!

Personal Post: My brother Andy {Lakeland Senior Photographer}

This is a personal post from me and one I'm excited to share. Meet Andy. He is my little brother who is 19 years old. He this past year graduated from George Jenkins High School in Lakeland. He was born with Down Syndrome and is the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. He and my Dad have had to learn to live life without my mom after her passing a few years ago. Not an easy task as she was the center of their universe. He is now gone on to a technical school and soon will have a job. I'm so proud of you Andy and I know you'll go on to do some amazing things!

The gorgeous Anderson Family {Apollo Beach Family Photographer}

I often say I get really attached to my clients, and its true. But I felt a particular kinship to Julie and her family after I met her for this session. (yes its been almost a year.. I'm a terrible blogger what can I say)

We have so much in common! We have a love for family and friends, put Christ first, homeschool, politics, you name it we agree!

 I loved spending time capturing her family in the comfort of their gorgeous home setting in Apollo Beach. I look forward to many years of watching her gorgeous children grow up.

2014 Holiday Mini Sessions

Tampa Family Holiday Mini sessions Photographer Christmas

Believe it or not, its time to book your Holiday Sessions!

mini sessions will be held at your choice of these locations:

Apollo Beach Preserve

Redington Beach Pier

Florida Southern College Lakeland

University of Tampa

The Grotto San Antonio

USF Campus

Each session will result in 20-30  images for you to proof to select your favorites.

All sessions also include a 30 minute shooting session, 10 edited digital files via download, one 11x14 fine art print and an online gallery to choose your favorites for your ten files and 11×14 print, and also to order any other prints/products you’d like to order as gifts or for yourself.

Mini sessions are great for a quick shoot to grab a few options for holiday cards and gifts.

These are not full, custom sessions (which are still available throughout the holiday season).

Full sessions result in more options, more time, and more control over your scheduling and location. Mini sessions may not be the right fit for children or babies that are shy and may need more time to warm up and get comfortable in front of the camera.

… not sure what is right for you?

if you have any questions about the differences between full and mini sessions, please ask!

Why a first look? {Davis Island Wedding Photographer}

Some of you are asking "What's a first look?" Basically it's exactly what it sounds like.. Its the first "look" between a bride and groom.  Quite often these days, couples opt for a first look, before their actual ceremony begins.

"Why a first look?" One of the biggest pros to a first look is it takes the pressure off the timeline for the day. Once those first quiet private moments (captured on film from far, far away) are over,  there is time to photograph you as a couple without starring eyes, and impatient guests who are waiting to party with you at your reception!  This also allows for plenty of time for family and bridal party portraits afterwards! Some couples say a first look also helps take away the nervousness and helps them to focus on what's truly important as they walk down that aisle.. their love.  Its also a great idea to have a first look if your ceremony is at sunset, so that your couple portraits (which more often than not are your favorites and most important from the  day) won't be in the dark. A night portrait can be gorgeous and romantic, but you don't want every photo to be taken in the dark.

So how do I feel about first looks?  A first look isn't for everyone. To some couples, tradition is super important, to others, they can't imagine that first moment of seeing each other to be anywhere but on the aisle in front of family and friends. As your wedding photographer, I believe your day is about YOU and not me, so whatever you choose, I am here to capture your day the way you've always imagined it! Give me a call and lets grab a drink and chat!

Clearwater Beach Wedding {Clearwater Beach Wedding Photographer}

Here are just a few from a gorgeous destination wedding at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach.  Wedding planner who saw to the gorgeous details was Thai Terakulsatit and she did an amazing job.  More of this beautiful wedding to come!

Flashes of Hope {Tampa Charity Photographer}

I am privileged to be a part of a fantastic group of people, Flashes of Hope, who photograph cancer patients and their families. In December I was honored to meet so many special families at their Holiday Party. Despite their hurdles, these children and their families were full of smiles and reminded me to be grateful for every moment.

Tanya and Kevin's Sandpearl Destination Wedding {Clearwater Beach Wedding Photographer}

I can finally share these photos with the world. Tanya and Kevin flew down to the beautiful Sandpearl Resort in  Clearwater Beach in November where they met to say "I do," but didn't make it official to friends and family till this month!  Such a super sweet couple! Tanya was so elegant and beautiful and I don't think I ever saw Kevin without a smile on his face. Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your special day and I wish you many happy years together!
