Old Man C | Tampa Newborn Photographer

Baby C

When I met sweet baby C the first thing I though was “oh that gorgeous head of hair.”

Don’t you love it?  What’s not to love with those luxurious black curls!

Then I met him, and he was the most “grown up” newborn ever!! He was totally alert almost the whole session and loved watching Veggie Tales on the TV his sister was watching.

Thank you C Family for allowing me to spend these precious moments with you and your sweet baby! Wishing you a lifetime of blessings.

Photoshop Friday! |Tampa Photographer

Untitled-1

I love photoshop and color! I don’t think that’s much of a secret!

I thought it might be fun to share with my blog readers and clients some before and after shots!  Here is an example of a shot I took of my niece playing at the beach last summer.

Totally grey skies out, but if you look hard you can see the color! You just have to bring it out. This photo is also underexposed a bit and just  ”BLAH”

But after I played with it a bit its vibrant and colorful!  Its not all about the camera!

What to Wear Wednesday | Central Florida Family Photographer

Starting today, at least every other Wednesday, hopefully EVERY Wednesday posting some ideas for my clients on what to wear. Its one of the most common questions I get.

And because most of the country is literally buried in water or snow while we have mid-80 degree temps this week, I thought I would put together some warm, SUNNY, family outfits!

This little collections shows you how you can all coordinate without being too matchy matchy!

Family picsI hope this inspires you for your next family session!

Baby Alexandra’s Birth Story – Contemporary Captures Lakeland Birth Photographer

I never thought I would enjoy birth photography. Even in child birth classes I would turn my head and refuse to watch the actual scenes of women giving birth. But two years ago I was asked to photograph my first birth and it was an experience I will never forget. Such a priceless moment, such many emotions, anticipation, fear, joy. I fell in love with birth photography that day and decided to offer it to my clients.

Last month I was given the opportunity to photography the birth of my niece Baby Alexandra.. She is named after my mother who passed away a little over a year ago. She is a gorgeous child, (no, not biased) and she has big shoes to fill! She was welcomed into this world by so many who love her and I know my mother was smiling from above.

Here is the slideshow of Miss Alexandra’s birth. For more information on birth photography, please email me: melissa@contemporarycaptures.com

Misc Ramblings of a Tampa Photographer

IMG_5855-Edit-2 copy

You may have noticed my website is empty of images! Well, after losing my blog and my website and having a lifesaving friend work tirelessly to get me back online, I decided to start from scratch. My website had not been updated in quite some time and I really feel like many of the images on my site were not characteristic of my work anymore. (the blog is more recently updated, though I need to get better at it)

In light of these musings, and in anticipation of some fabulous new things in store for Contemporary Captures, (shh.. still a secret), I decided to have a new “Couture” Line of collections and pricing for a Limited Time Only! This is a fabulous time to give Contemporary Captures a try if pricing has always kept you on the fence. Feel free to email me with any questions! :)

6 month old Mr. T came to visit me today. We met on the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key early this morning. T was bright eyed and bushy tailed though! He brought along his gorgeous parents and his Mia! He was so precious and loved looking at everything!
